Reunion 2011

... this time in Vareš and Sarajevo!

It is an integral part of our concept for international youth exchanges that a summer camp in Germany will be followed up by a reunion in one of the partner countries. Our partner in Bosnia and Hercegovina, the Foundation Wings of Hope in Sarajevo, offered to do the local preparations for this year’s Reunion. The young people from the Summer Camp 2010 in Königswinter will meet again from end of July till about middle of August in Vareš and in Sarajevo: 32 out of 36 boys and girls from Poland, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Germany already have registered for the event, a share of 89 %! All efforts are worth it to make the Reunion an unforgettable experience.

Vareš is a little town some 50 km north of Sarajevo. The local secondary school there will be the home for the first days and starting point for all activities. The international CAMPUS15-group will also meet with local youth groups for common programme items. For the second part of the Reunion the group will move to the capital city Sarajevo. There, in the year 2001, the regional school for blind children had already been the home for a CAMPUS15 reunion.

During the second weekend in May the team counsellors will meet in Sarajevo. Details for the programme, how to split up tasks and what kind of home work needs to be done in advance by the young people will be discussed and determined. This will support workshops during the Reunion which will deal with ethnical and cultural identities of the countries involved.

We are grateful for the support of the Reunion by the Youth Welfare Office of the Rhineland.
